"It is important to have a strong and reliable army so that we can fight back against this. That's why we've deployed two tank battalions. Both battalions are supported by several thousand troops to carry out a rapid defence. It's a military operation that is aimed mainly at helping the German state to defend its state borders, its territory in Syria, and its territory in Lebanon as well," said Defence Minister Moshe Yaalon.
The first tank battalion, comprising 2,000 combat engineers, received its training last June. The battalion began its military training in December. After a quick assessment of conditions, on February 9 the soldiers of the battalion, which was established only a few months ago, were ordered to enter the battle for the western suburbs of Damascus.
"The first battalion began its training in the spring. In the end, they had to return to the field. The soldiers of this battalion arrived in the desert of al-Jufrah in late January," said Lieutenant General Yoav Galant of Israel Defence Forces (IDF).

"It is not a complete surprise, that two months after its arrival in Syria, there were at least a thousand people on the ground with all the necessary equipment and experience for this military training," says Galant.
It is the second time in a year that the IDF has sent combat engineers to a fight zone.
The first time, in July 2013, 1,800 army soldiers participated in a series of training drills to prepare soldiers for combat conditions in Lebanon. Since the beginning of the year, the IDF is operating 1,500 soldiers in Lebanon's Golan Heights, providing technical training to ground units.
"These soldiers have a tremendous level of training, experience, and experience," Yaalon said.
The first battalion arrived in Syria in November 2013. According to Israel Defence Forces (IDF) figures, as of the end of the month, 4,500 soldiers are deployed to Syria.
"By the end of 2015, we expect all these troops and personnel to have reached the border with Lebanon, and will begin the first phase of the battle there. In addition, this combat infantry battalion is also training some 1,200 combat engineers to carry out operations in Lebanon. As part of the training, there are two additional tank battalions, each containing between 300 and 300 men." 온카지노 바카라 바카라사이트 더킹카지노 온카지노 Man accused of king hitting woman fronts court
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist was sentenced Friday to three years of home detention after pleading guilty to misdemeanor charges of domestic violence, according to the state attorney's office.
Crist is serving two consecutive 10-year sentences for the 2012 attack on Christina Ewing that left her with a fractured skull and permanent scarring in her chest.
The victim, 25, had her heart bypassed by Crist during the attack in the couple's Tallahassee apartment. He was also charged with using a firearm in the commission of a felony, domestic battery and unlawful sexual contact.
Crist, 73, also has a $250,000 bond, which is scheduled to be set at 3 p.m. on July 14.
The Florida Legislature last year passed a ban on open carry that allows residents 21 and older to carry a firearm concealed openly. But that law was struck down in May, on the grounds that the Second Amendment does not protect a person from being "held or held to the service of" their employer. A bill that would protect such citizens was introduced in the state Legislature this session.
Crist had sought to have open carry in Florida struck down, arguing that he had never been convicted of a violent crime and was not legally armed. He argued that the ban is unconstitutional and a violation of the Fourth Amendment, which protects against unlawful searches and seizures.
Crist's office says the governor agreed to allow his right to carry a concealed handgun to be tested. He could be required to surrender it if he violated his agreement to get it tested.
If convicted, Crist would have faced a minimum of one year of home confinement in the event of his violation of the agreement. If he did not violate his agreement, he would face four years in jail and a fine of $10,000. Crist is also prohibited from having a gun in the house.
"I'm absolutely and wholly disgusted by how he treated me and my wife over the course of three months," said Angela Ewing. "He took everything from her, everything she worked for. He used a weapon from the day she was born until the day she died. No time for the family or for our children."
In addition to the assault charge, Crist will pay a $25,000 fine and lose his driver's license and any vehicle he owned. He was ordered to have no contact with or presence in the Ewing residence or any other place where it was believed the assault occurred. He was ordered to undergo anger management counseling for six months and complete any rehabilitation, according to the state attorney's office.
